Audition Requirements

Repertoire

Prepare repertoire on your primary instrument

Brass: two brief, contrasting etudes

Woodwinds: two contrasting pieces, or one piece with contrasting styles

Strings: two contrasting solos or etudes (one technical, one lyrical)

Piano: two contrasting works from the Western classical literature, memorization preferred

Scales & Technique

Brass: three chromatically adjacent major scales with arpeggios plus a two-octave chromatic scale

Woodwinds: three chromatically adjacent major scales plus a chromatic scale

Strings: two major or minor scales

Piano: three major and three harmonic minor scales of your choice, two octaves, hands together

A short sight-reading excerpt is provided at the audition

Apply to UNA first, then complete the UNA School of the Arts audition application separately

Ensemble auditions may use the same materials, but all studio requirements must be completed separately
