Letters of Recommendation
•Required: upload a reference letter from a music professional who can attest to your potential for success as a college music major
Essay
•Required: address why you want to major in a music degree, your career goal as a musician, and your musical strengths and weaknesses
Repertoire List
•Required repertoire list: provide the repertoire you will perform at your audition and present a printed list to the faculty hearing the audition
•Instrumental: major scales C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb, Eb, and Ab; one etude; and one solo showing your level of advancement
•Vocal: two solos of contrasting style, preferably memorized
•Piano: major and minor scales through four sharps and flats, three contrasting memorized works, and sight-reading
•Organ: two contrasting works, one prepared hymn, and sight-reading
•Percussion: a short solo on two areas, mallet scales up to four sharps/flats, and snare rudiments or a rudimental etude
Sheet Music
•Sheet music: provide music scores by the department deadline when requesting a school pianist
•Sheet music: bring original music scores, not photocopies, in the proper key
