Audition Requirements

Songs

TWO CONTRASTING SONGS

•One ballad (longer, sustained vocal lines) and one uptempo (conversational pace)

•60-90 seconds each (time limit strictly enforced)

•Must sing to musical accompaniment (live or pre-recorded, no a cappella)

Option a

•One song written before 1970 (ballad or uptempo, student's choice)

•One song written after 1970, contrasting style

•One filmed full-frame, one filmed close-up (top of head to chest)

Option B

•One musical theater song from any time period

•One song of your choice in any style (pop, hip-hop, folk, rock, etc.)

•Should contrast the style of the first selection

Monologues

ONE MONOLOGUE

•60 seconds maximum

•From a published play or by a professional writer

•Age-appropriate character

•Preferably no dialect

Dance

Dance Video

•Submit a short video showing your best version of dancing or moving

•Include at least one turn, one jump, and one kick

•Or other suitable rotation, elevation, and extension that works for your body

In-Person

•Dance combination taught by faculty

•All skill levels welcome

Additional Materials

Slate video (required)

•Record one introduction video stating your name (pronouns optional)

•Speak loudly and clearly directly at camera

•No need to slate individual performance videos

Video (required)

•Interview video describing your goals in pursuing the BFA and current post-graduation plans

Letters of recommendation (required)

•Two letters required

•Provide recommender email addresses in Acceptd application

•Each reference uploads their letter directly to Acceptd
