Audition Requirements

Monologues

TWO CONTRASTING 1-MINUTE MONOLOGUES

Select from the following theatrical styles: Classical Theatre (Shakespeare, etc.), Contemporary, Dramatic, and Comedic
Both monologues must be memorized
Each monologue should be approximately 1 minute
Dance

DANCE TRAINING

BFA Acting students complete 4 semester hours in two of the following dance styles:
-Ballet
-Tap
-Jazz

ACCOMPANIST MATERIALS

Sheet music, accompanist materials, and track support must be emailed to airvin@umobile.edu
Materials due no later than 2 weeks prior to audition date

What's The Process

AUDITION FORMAT

In-person audition on campus is standard
Auditions may be scheduled weekly (Monday through Thursday) upon approval from the ASOTA office
Video submissions considered only for candidates unable to come to campus due to extreme distance or extenuating circumstances

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Upload recording to YouTube or Vimeo (YouTube: Public or Unlisted, not Private)
Must include video — no audio-only recordings
One continuous, unedited video
Begin facing the camera and introduce yourself and the piece(s)
Recorded auditions must be submitted no later than midnight on March 22
