Audition Process
•Live audition approximately 7-12 minutes in length
•Applicant chooses first vocal selection to perform
•Audition committee may hear as much of prepared repertoire as deemed necessary
•Sight-reading may be requested following the audition
•Musicianship assessment and sight-singing assessment may be required
•Arrive at least 30 minutes early to check in
•Video audition available by request (email cadmissions@umkc.edu for approval)
Transfer Students
•Prepare 2-3 contrasting selections memorized, one in English
•Junior/senior level (4+ semesters of applied vocal study): 3 selections preferred in English, Italian, and German or French
•Applied voice level assigned based on audition
