Songs
TWO CONTEST-TYPE SOLOS
•Prepare two solos demonstrating tonal capacities and technique
•Music does not need to be memorized
•May bring your own accompanist or school will provide one

APPLICATION PROCESS
•Apply to the University of Missouri through Common App or school website
•Schedule a separate audition through the School of Music
ELIGIBILITY
•All prospective music majors must audition for admission to the School of Music
•Must also meet all University of Missouri admissions requirements
What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•Live audition on campus at a Mizzou Music Day
•Audition serves for both admission and scholarship consideration
•Sight-singing and tonal memory are also evaluated during the audition
SCHEDULING
•Priority deadline to schedule audition: January 9, 2026
•Schedule via the Mizzou Music Audition Request form on the School of Music website
•If unable to attend a Mizzou Music Day, individual auditions may be arranged with instructors
POST-AUDITION
•Scholarship award letters typically sent by March 15
•Admission letters sent by March 15 or within one month from audition date

SCHOOL OF MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
•Music scholarships awarded based on performance audition at Mizzou Music Day
•Primarily directed at music and music education majors
•Small number of non-major scholarships available for highly talented performers
•Scholarship award letters typically sent by March 15
MAINTAINING SCHOLARSHIPS
•Maintain 2.75 GPA
•No grade below C- in music classes
•Remain in good standing with the University
•Automatically renewable for up to four years
