Training
•The Musical Theatre Minor pairs acting and movement coursework from Theatre & Dance with vocal training from the Department of Music's voice faculty, including Lecturers Julie Carr and Joseph Wright, letting non-Theatre majors build a performance skill set alongside another degree.
Performance & Productions
•Minor students can audition for department mainstage productions, including the 2025-26 co-production of the musical "Lucky Stiff" with Flint Repertory Theatre.
Degree Flexibility
•It is one of three minors — alongside the Dance Minor and Theatre Minor — that the Theatre & Dance program markets to students majoring outside the department.
Value
•Minor students are advised by Academic Advisor Therasa Martin, who also advises Theatre, Dance, and Music majors, centralizing cross-department course planning under one advisor.
