•Bullet: Composition study sits within UM-Flint's NASM-accredited Music program, giving minor students access to the same theory faculty and recital infrastructure as Music majors.

•Bullet: The Music Composition Minor is coordinated through Professor Brian Di Blassio, the Music program's director and a music-theory specialist who also directs UM-Flint's Jazz Ensembles.

•Bullet: Original student work can be featured in the Music program's recital series, including the April Concert Series that closed the 2026 winter semester with a run of student recitals covered by UM-Flint News.
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: It is one of three Music minors offered alongside the Music Minor and Musical Theatre Minor, letting composition-focused students outside the Music major build a portfolio of original work.
