Program Recognition
•Dance study at UM-Flint sits inside the Department of Fine & Performing Arts rather than a standalone dance department, giving minors direct access to Theatre & Dance's mainstage production calendar and its Flint Repertory Theatre partnership.
Training
•The Dance Minor is based in the Northbank Dance Annex and taught primarily by Collegiate Lecturer Emma Davis, who also directs the department's public dance projects.
Performance & Productions
•Davis spent a full year developing "Sharing Our Stories Through Dance," a 2026 collaborative work with the Detroit Dance Collective and local incarcerated youth that culminated in a public performance, reported by UM-Flint News in May 2026.
Degree Flexibility
•The minor is one of three the Theatre & Dance program offers to non-majors, alongside the Musical Theatre Minor and Theatre Minor, and is advised by Therasa Martin.
