Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Repertoire List

Prepare repertoire for the applicant's performance area:

Vocalists: two songs from standard art-song literature; one selection may be an aria

Percussionists: a solo, study, or etude on snare, one keyboard percussion instrument, or timpani

Other instrumentalists: contact the Department of Music because the official page lists eligible instruments but does not publish area-specific repertoire

Accompaniment

Vocalists must arrange the department-provided accompanist in advance or bring their own at their own expense

Recorded or digital accompaniment is not accepted for vocal auditions

Audition Process

Bachelor of Arts applicants may submit audition materials to the Department of Music before listed audition dates

Department of Music auditions are held in person

Email musicumflint@umich.edu to register for an audition

Audition appointments begin at 4 p.m.; specific appointment time is provided after registration

Submitting before the February and March audition dates is highly recommended for music scholarship consideration
