Repertoire
•Prepare repertoire appropriate to your instrument and current level (requirements vary by instrument family)
Brass
•Trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba: two contrasting works (etudes or solo selections) showcasing lyrical playing and technique
•Piano accompaniment is not required for brass auditions
Woodwinds
•Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone: two contrasting pieces (etudes or solos) plus the required major and chromatic scales for your instrument
Strings
•Violin, viola, cello, double bass, classical guitar: two to three contrasting pieces, typically including a movement of solo Bach and a concerto movement; piano accompanist not required for strings
Percussion
•One two- or four-mallet keyboard work, one snare-drum work, and snare-drum rudiments
•Optional: multiple-percussion work, timpani work, or drum-set styles
Scales & Technique
•Woodwind and percussion auditions include scales/rudiments as specified by the area
