Repertoire List (Required)

Prepare a principal-instrument repertoire audition matching your area: voice, keyboard, strings, winds, brass, percussion, or jazz

Acoustic applicants perform live; digital musicians submit audio recordings with scores

Scores / GPA

Digital musicians provide a score or screenshot of each submitted work

Apply via Common App; there is no separate audition portal

Audition and interview scheduling is arranged by email after you submit your application

Curriculum Note

Core curriculum includes two years of music theory and aural skills plus piano, music history, analysis, digital music, and ethnomusicology — placement is for course sequencing, not admission

What's The Process

Audition Format

Acoustic musicians perform a principal-instrument audition for the faculty

Digital musicians submit audio and score files in place of a live performance

Repertoire and technical requirements follow your principal-instrument track (classical or jazz focus)

Teaching Interview

All applicants complete an interview about their interest in and disposition for music teaching

Recorded Audition

On-campus audition is recommended; a recorded audition is accepted if you cannot attend in person

Sight-reading is not required for recorded auditions, though faculty may request a brief Zoom session
