Training
•DU's BA Theatre requires 45 credit hours and combines acting, directing, design and management, theatre history, studio, production, and a senior capstone. Students can focus on performance, design, or directing after mastering the foundations, with graduation distinction available for significant professional work.
Performance & Productions
•The Department of Theatre produces two fully realized productions each quarter and senior capstone projects each spring. The program also gives students independent production and collaborative project opportunities that connect coursework to the stage.
Facilities
•Students work in state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance spaces at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts and learn from faculty, visiting directors, guest artists, and local, national, and international theatre communities. The broad creative, technical, and managerial curriculum supports careers in acting, design, management, marketing, directing, and related fields.
