•Graduation distinction available in Acting, Design, Directing, Playwriting, Theatre History, Stage Management, and Dramaturgy
TRAINING
•Students do it all: act, design, build, direct, manage, and produce
•Small classes led by engaged faculty who are practicing theatre professionals
•Hands-on experience creating full productions from all periods and genres
•State-of-the-art rehearsal and performance spaces at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts
PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTIONS
•Two fully-realized departmental productions each quarter
•Senior capstone project as principal artist (actor, director, designer, playwright, etc.)
•All DU students are invited to audition for theatre productions
NOTABLE ALUMNI
•Anthony Adu (BA '18, Acting Distinction) - Cold Caller, Shot Day, Pick Me Last
DEGREE FLEXIBILITY
•48 credit hours for the theatre major (24 for the minor)
•Students may focus on one area (performance, design, directing) beginning in their third year
