Application Process
•Apply via Common App, selecting a "Music" major
•Within 1-2 business days, receive an email to log into your DU application status page
•Complete the Lamont School of Music supplemental application on your status page
•Upload your music resume, repertoire list, and recorded video audition (if not auditioning live) via the status page
Program Design
•The BA in Applied Music is built for students who want to double major; music may also be added as a secondary major following the same curriculum
•Admitted students must begin in the fall quarter; new or transfer students normally may not enroll mid-year
Early Action / Early Decision
•Early applicants must complete their audition in the fall
•You cannot apply early and audition during the Regular Decision timeline — the audition timeline must match the application timeline
Placement
•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement assessment for course placement only, not admission
