•Vocalists: two contrasting jazz standards demonstrating melodic interpretation and improvisational skills
•Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone: two jazz standards from the approved list (A Child Is Born, Autumn Leaves, Billie's Bounce, Blue Bossa, Footprints, Lester Leaps In, Rhythm-a-ning, Sugar, Take the A Train, Up Jump Spring) demonstrating melodic interpretation and improvisation
•Piano, Bass: two tunes from the approved list demonstrating style-appropriate bass-line patterns, melody, and improvisation
•Drum set applicants: perform repertoire in a variety of styles at different tempi (swing, bossa/latin, funk/rock, waltz)
Sight-Reading
•Selected big band chart with recorded accompaniment (all applicants)
Essay
•Short essay (approximately 500 words) responding to "Why I chose a liberal arts major in music"
Sheet Music (Required for Voice Applicants)
•Submit scores of audition music through the Acceptd media tab at least 10 days before the audition
