Training
•The BA combines the University of Dallas Core Curriculum with 29 hours of advanced drama coursework, Theatre Arts Workshop, Studio Rehearsal/Production, and an upper-level elective drawn from Drama or related fields.
•The curriculum includes theater history and literature alongside production, contemporary theater, and stagecraft; seniors complete a comprehensive examination covering those areas.
•The program emphasizes individualized instruction from professors who work in American theater.
Performance & Productions
•Degree requirements call for participation in at least three University Theater productions for credit, connecting classroom study with acting, design, rehearsal, production, or stage-management work.
•University Theater presents major productions under the Drama Department and brings together student acting companies and technical crews from across the university.
Professional Development
•The department identifies the major as preparation for graduate study, professional theater and mass media, teaching, and related humanities fields.
