TRAINING
•Performance students train inside a production-based BA that emphasizes acting, directing, and playwriting
•Coursework is paired with mentorship from professional faculty and MFA collaborators

PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTIONS
•Students can participate in six or more department-supported productions each academic year
•The department mounts a dedicated undergraduate production where BA majors contribute onstage and behind the scenes
•Three venues support mainstage, black box, and experimental work

•Guest artists have included Robert Redford, Mary-Louise Parker, Christine Jones, and Howell Binkley

APPLICATION LOGISTICS
•Apply to the University of Arkansas through the university application
•Theatre scholarships, work-study, and departmental aid are available to qualified students
•Scholarship consideration may involve a personal interview and/or audition with the department
•Undergraduates train alongside MFA artists in classes and productions
•Concentration-specific coursework is selected after entry into the BA Theatre major
AUDITION PROCESS
•No audition or prescreen is required for admission to the BA Theatre program
•Students enter through university admission and move into the Performance concentration through coursework and advising
•Department productions hold auditions open to all students on campus once enrolled
•The Department of Theatre encourages a personal interview and/or audition for scholarship consideration
•Contact the department early if you want to be reviewed for departmental scholarship support

•Theatre majors may apply each year for Department of Theatre scholarships
•The department encourages a personal interview and/or audition for scholarship eligibility
