Training
•The 21-credit Dance minor combines Dance Appreciation, Theory and Improvisation, Approaches to Dance Composition and interdisciplinary study of dance issues and methods.
•Theatrical Production Techniques gives dancers practical knowledge of how performance is supported and staged.
Performance & Composition
•An Advanced Practicum in Performance places two credits of the minor in upper-level performance experience.
•Students choose four technique or repertory credits from Contemporary Modern I or II, Dance for Musical Theatre I, and Dance Repertory and Performance I. The sequence therefore joins critical study, improvisation, composition, production and performance rather than concentrating on technique alone.
