Application Logistics
•Submit the University application through the Common App by February 1, 2026
•Complete the Music Department audition by March 1, 2026
•An application is not considered complete until both the university application and the audition are finished
Program Accreditation
•All UNH music degrees have final approval from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
•A music audition identifies your qualifications; it does not by itself commit you to a music degree
Five-Year Pathway
•The B.M. pre-teaching degree is designed for a combined five-year bachelor’s and Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Education) leading to public-school music certification
•Application to the M.A.T. program requires a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or better
•Students elect a vocal/choral or instrumental concentration
Placement Exams
•Admitted students complete music theory and aural-skills placement for course placement only — not part of admission
