Audition Process
•Live auditions take place on campus; recorded video submission is also available
•Email unlisted YouTube video links to und.music@und.edu for recorded auditions
•If you cannot attend a scheduled date, email UND Music to arrange an alternate audition
Audition Expectations
•Prepare two contrasting solos, two movements of the same solo, or one solo and one etude on your primary instrument
•Percussionists: prepare two solos, one each from two of snare drum, timpani, or mallets
•Prepare a chromatic scale and one major scale of your choice
•Strings: prepare one major and one melodic minor scale in a key of your choice at fast and slow tempi
•Sight-reading follows the scales at the audition
•Instrumental auditions do not require accompaniment
Decisions
•Scholarship offers are sent in March
