Audition Process
•Bullet: Live auditions take place on campus; recorded video submission is also available
•Bullet: Email unlisted YouTube video links to und.music@und.edu for recorded auditions
•Bullet: If you cannot attend a scheduled date, email UND Music to arrange an alternate audition
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Prepare two contrasting solos, two movements of the same solo, or one solo and one etude on your primary instrument
•Bullet: Percussionists: prepare two solos, one each from two of snare drum, timpani, or mallets
•Bullet: Prepare a chromatic scale and one major scale of your choice
•Bullet: Strings: prepare one major and one melodic minor scale in a key of your choice at fast and slow tempi
•Bullet: Sight-reading follows the scales at the audition
•Bullet: Instrumental auditions do not require accompaniment
Decisions
•Bullet: Scholarship offers are sent in March
