•Bullet: Trumpet (suggested repertoire; perform repertoire that showcases your ability): be prepared to play all 12 major and natural minor scales; one lyrical etude from "Lyrical Etudes for the Trumpet" by Phil Snedecor or equivalent (except the Colorado All-State etudes), with other options Charlier 36 Etudes Transcendantes, Concone Lyrical Etudes, or J. L. Small 27 Melodious and Rhythmical Exercises; one technical etude from "Second Book of Practical Studies for the Trumpet or Cornet" by Robert W. Getchell or equivalent, with other options Arban Characteristic Studies or V. Brandt etudes for trumpet; one solo of your choice from Ropartz "Andante et Allegro", Balay "Andante et Allegro", Clarke "The Maid of the Mist", or an equivalent piece
•Bullet: Horn repertoire: two or three contrasting works totaling approximately 10 minutes of music that demonstrate both technical and lyrical strengths (possible choices include a Mozart concerto movement 1 or 2, Richard Strauss Concerto 1 or 2, Franz Strauss Concerto Op. 8, or Saint-Saëns Morceau de Concert); two-octave major scales with arpeggios for BM, and two octaves with arpeggios when range permits for BME; be prepared to sight-read

Cosio by email (daniel.cosio@unco.edu) before preparing audition materials; for the live or recorded audition prepare selected major scales in 2 octaves, two contrasting etudes (one lyrical, one technical) such as All-State etudes, and one solo from Barat Andante et Allegro, De La Nux Concert Piece, Guilmant Morceau Symphonique, Saint-Saëns Cavatine, Weber Romance, or an equivalent piece that showcases your technical and musical ability
•Bullet: Bass trombone repertoire: confirm your audition repertoire with Prof. Daniel J. Cosio by email (daniel.cosio@unco.edu) before preparing audition materials; for the live or recorded audition prepare selected major scales in 2 octaves, two contrasting etudes (one lyrical, one technical) such as All-State etudes, and one solo from Jacob Cameos, Koetsier Allegro Maestoso, Lebedev Concerto in 1 Movement, Lebedev Concert Allegro, or an equivalent piece that showcases your technical and musical ability
•Bullet: Euphonium (suggested repertoire; perform repertoire that showcases your ability): all major scales, two octaves when possible; one lyrical etude, such as one from Bordogni/Rochut "Melodious Etudes for Trombone"; one technical etude, such as one from Voxman "Selected Studies for Baritone" or Tyrell "40 Progressive Studies for Trombone"; one solo from Barat Andante and Allegro, Capuzzi Andante and Rondo, Curnow Rhapsody for Euphonium, Guilmant Morceau Symphonique, or Rüedi Three Pieces for Euphonium (pick 1-2 movements from the same piece)
•Bullet: Tuba repertoire: all major scales, two octaves when possible; one lyrical etude, such as one from Bordogni "Complete Vocalises for Tuba" (ed. Wes Jacobs preferred); one technical etude, such as one from Kopprasch "60 Selected Studies for Tuba" or Tyrell "40 Advanced Studies for Tuba"; one solo from Capuzzi Andante and Rondo, Gregson Concerto (movement 1), Haddad Suite, Hartley Suite for Unaccompanied Tuba, or Marcello Sonata in F Major
•Bullet: Optional euphonium and tuba repertoire: knowledge of all minor scales is preferred but not required
•Bullet: Percussion repertoire: snare drum, one solo or band excerpt that demonstrates technical and musical proficiency (Cirone, Whaley, All-State audition etudes, etc.), plus sight reading; mallets, one two-mallet or four-mallet solo or band excerpt that demonstrates technical and musical proficiency (transcriptions, All-State audition etudes; solos from books by Davila, Ford, Goldenberg, Whaley, etc.), plus two-mallet sight reading; timpani, one solo or band excerpt that demonstrates technical and musical proficiency (Firth, Whaley, All-State audition etudes, etc.)
•Bullet: Optional drum set repertoire: a demonstration of a variety of musical styles in a solo or ensemble selection (playing alongside a combo/ensemble or recording is encouraged), uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, etc., with the video link emailed to tim.feerst@unco.edu before your audition
•Bullet: Violin, viola, cello, and double bass repertoire: a combination of works representing technical and musical versatility
•Bullet: Optional string repertoire: pieces by underrepresented composers are encouraged
•Bullet: Classical guitar repertoire: one standard study piece or etude by Sor, Aguado, Giuliani, Carcassi, Coste, Villa-Lobos, or Brouwer; two pieces of your choice, preferably of contrasting historical periods; one two-octave major scale and the relative melodic minor of your choice; you may be asked to sight-read and to sight-sing
•Bullet: Flute repertoire: two pieces or movements of works from contrasting style periods (movements must come from separate compositions) that demonstrate both lyrical and "technical" playing abilities; all major, minor, and chromatic scales
•Bullet: Clarinet repertoire: four scales of your choice (major or minor); two solo pieces, one primarily technical (the Weber Concertino is suggested, or another work of similar difficulty) and one lyrical etude from the Rose 32 Etudes (for example #1, 3 or 5); you may be asked to sight-read at the audition
•Bullet: Oboe repertoire: two contrasting works, one etude (Barret, Ferling, Bozza, Brod, Rubank, etc.) and one movement from a piece of your choosing from the oboe solo repertoire; all major, minor, and chromatic scales
•Bullet: Optional oboe repertoire: applicants are highly encouraged to include pieces by female composers and composers from an underrepresented background
•Bullet: Bassoon repertoire: all major, minor, and chromatic scales; two contrasting solo selections from the standard repertoire (for example etudes by Weissenborn and Milde); sight reading may be provided at the audition
•Bullet: Saxophone repertoire: be prepared to perform your major scales and two musical selections (etudes or pieces) that demonstrate technical and musical proficiency
