•The 32-credit program's professional core includes Pedagogical Conducting and a Seminar in Music Education, plus electives such as Measurement of Musical Behavior and Music for Exceptional People.
•Incoming students complete diagnostic examinations before their first semester, and the degree culminates in a two-part MM Portfolio rather than a written thesis.
Professional Development
•Electives allow up to 3 credits of applied music performance study (ensemble or private lessons), letting practicing teachers keep a performance component in their graduate coursework.
