Program Recognition
•UNCG's School of Dance is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), accredited since 2000.
Training
•15-credit minor for students in another major who want structured dance study without pursuing a full BA or BFA; at least 7 of the 15 credits must be at or above the 100 level.
•Required core is Introduction to Dance and Dance Appreciation, plus 3 technique credits chosen from Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, African Dance, or Tap Dance courses spanning beginning through advanced levels (I-IV).
•Remaining elective credits draw from the full DCE course catalog, letting minors combine additional technique classes with dance history, choreography, or production coursework alongside their primary major.
Value
•No audition is required to declare or complete the Dance Minor, and minors train in the same studios as BA/BFA majors, though majors receive registration priority for high-demand courses.
