Training
•The Brass concentration (BM Performance) requires 20 credits of principal-instrument study within the 120-credit degree, culminating in a full public recital, per the UNCG catalog.
•Studio faculty include Abigail Pack (horn) and Stephanie Ycaza (tuba and euphonium), alongside trumpet and trombone faculty who perform nationally in solo, orchestral, and chamber settings.
•Beyond the University Symphony Orchestra and concert bands, brass majors can join dedicated studio ensembles — Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble, and TubaBand (the tuba/euphonium ensemble) — built around chamber-brass repertoire specific to their instrument family.
Performance & Productions
•Brass students perform across UNCG's full large-ensemble roster (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, University Band, Symphony Orchestra) in addition to their studio-specific chamber groups.
