Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Dance

Undergraduate Video Option

Submit a 3-5 minute video if choosing the video audition option.

Demonstrate technical proficiency and artistic expression in at least two styles taught by UNCG: Contemporary, Jazz, African, Hip-Hop, or Ballet.

Video should be no more than 5 minutes and may use the applicant or teacher choreography.

Do not include edits, transitions, social media filters, group footage, or past performance footage.

The School of Dance undergraduate application is located in the Student Portal tied to the UNCG Undergraduate Admissions application.

A $10 audition registration fee is paid after the audition request is processed.

Admission Pathway

Admission to the BA and BFA dance majors requires both university admission and School of Dance audition review.
