•The Theatre minor builds public speaking, confidence, and collaboration skills through courses in acting, stagecraft, and performance, and does not require a departmental audition to declare
•Minor students train within the Department of English, Theatre & World Languages alongside BA Theatre Arts majors, including Senior Lecturer David Underwood
Performance & Productions
•The department stages three faculty-directed mainstage productions each season plus SHOWCASE, a student-driven initiative for acting, directing, and designing original work, all at the Givens Performing Arts Center (GPAC)
Facilities
•GPAC seats over 1,600 guests and is ranked among the top university performing arts centers in the nation; the Studio Theatre on GPAC's third floor is a flexible black box rehearsal and performance space
