Lower-Division Voice
•For students with fewer than four semesters of college-level lessons
•Sing, from memory, two songs of contrasting mood and tempo — either both from the solo classical repertoire (art song, opera, oratorio) or one classical and one musical theatre selection
•Pieces must be solo voice and piano arrangements, performed in their entirety with accompaniment
•Holding a score is permissible for an oratorio aria; include French, German, and/or Italian selections if you are experienced singing in those languages
Upper-Division Voice
•For students with four or more semesters of college-level lessons
•Prepare at least six memorized classical selections in at least three languages (Italian, English, and German required)
•Selections may include opera and oratorio arias, Lieder, English/American art songs, or comparable classical repertoire
•Memorization and the use of a pianist are required
