Audition Process
•Bullet: Begin or submit the UMBC undergraduate application before scheduling the department audition
•Bullet: Admission to the BFA in Acting is by live audition and faculty interview
•Bullet: Pre-recorded audition videos are not accepted
•Bullet: Fall 2026 entry: in-person audition Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM
•Bullet: Spring 2027 entry: live virtual audition Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM; this option is intended for spring transfer applicants who cannot attend in January
•Bullet: Spring or Fall 2027 entry, including Linehan applicants: in-person audition Saturday, January 16, 2027 at 10:00 AM
•Bullet: A separate Fall 2027 in-person audition is planned for August 2027; exact date and sign-up are TBA
•Bullet: Linehan acting applicants are evaluated for BFA admission during the Linehan audition and do not need a separate Theatre audition
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Prepare one contemporary monologue lasting 60–90 seconds
•Bullet: A brief faculty interview follows the audition
