•All three selections must be from standard classical repertoire
•May also include an additional selection from musical theatre or contemporary commercial music styles
•Program is primarily classically-based

ENROLLMENT
•Apply via Common App or UMaine direct application
•Gain admission to the University first, then pass the music entry audition
FULL CONSIDERATION DEADLINE
•Apply and audition by February 1 for full consideration
GRADE REQUIREMENTS
•A "C-" or better required in all music courses
•Students receiving below "C-" in applied lessons are dropped from the program and must re-audition

AUDITION REQUIREMENT
•All students wishing to major in music must pass an entry audition
•Both online and in-person auditions accepted
IN-PERSON AUDITION
•Piano accompanist provided
•Bring printed copies of sheet music in a three-ring binder for the accompanist
RECORDED AUDITION GUIDELINES
•Dress professionally
•Stand in the frame of the camera so that your entire body is visible
•Announce each piece
•Smartphone video is acceptable

VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP ($3,000/year)
•Renewable for up to 8 semesters for first-year students

•Awarded based on demonstrated talent in music

MUSIC MAJOR SCHOLARSHIP
•Available to both current and incoming students
•Deadline for submission is mid-February
