What's The Process

Audition Process

No audition required for admission to the BA Theatre degree

Admission is through the University of Maine admissions process

Performance-track prospective theatre majors may elect to audition for scholarship consideration

Auditions may be completed in person on campus or via digital recording

Scholarship Info

Visual & Performing Arts Scholarship ($3,000/Year)

Renewable for up to 8 semesters for first-year students and 4 semesters for transfer students

Must submit complete university application by December 1

Awarded based on demonstrated talent in theatre

Theatre Arts Scholarship

Email um.vapa@maine.edu to express interest

Must be nominated by a drama instructor or audition in person/via video

Must enroll as a theatre major

Performers must audition for all department productions

Technicians must take on one tech role per academic year

Newdick Theatre Scholarship

For returning students only

Based on participation in Division of Theatre and academic achievement

Selected by Director of SPA in consultation with theatre faculty
