What's The Process
AUDITION COMPONENTS
•Performance of two contrasting vocal pieces
•Scales, sight-reading, and/or interval patterns and melodic sequences for theory placement
•Interview with Music Department faculty
•Theory and ear training placement evaluations
AUDITION DAY FORMAT
•Full-day event from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET (lunch provided)
•Audition time assigned at morning check-in
•Includes campus activities beyond the audition
ACCOMPANIST
•School-provided accompanist available at no cost — request when scheduling
•You may also bring your own accompanist
REMOTE AUDITIONS
•Not available for Indiana residents
•Out-of-state and international students may email music@uindy.edu for options
DECISIONS
•Results emailed within one to two weeks after audition

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
•Competitive scholarships awarded based on entrance audition performance
•Only music majors are eligible for departmental scholarships
•Must audition before the priority deadline (February 27, 2026) for scholarship consideration
•Ensemble grants available to non-major students who contribute to vocal or instrumental ensembles
