Program Recognition
•UH describes its Bachelor of Music Therapy as Houston’s first undergraduate degree leading toward board certification in music therapy.
Training
•The four-year curriculum combines musicianship, clinical skills, psychology, anatomy, therapy techniques, and evidence-based music interventions.
•Students complete supervised clinical practica and a six-month internship, developing skills for work in hospitals, schools, mental-health facilities, rehabilitation centers, and private practice.
Professional Development
•Graduates are eligible to sit for the national board-certification examination administered by the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
