Program Structure
•Interdisciplinary 20-credit certificate combining Performing Arts with Hawaiian language and Hawaiʻi-based traditions and knowledge
•Students select a performance emphasis in dance, drama, or music
Training
•Eight credits of Hawaiian language develop at least first-year speaking and comprehension
•A foundation course and an application course are completed in the same dance, drama, or music emphasis
•Six elective credits deepen study through Hawaiian and Pacific music, dance, hula, and mele options
Degree Flexibility
•The certificate can be pursued alongside a student's regular academic major
•Courses require a grade of C or better, with a 2.0 minimum GPA across certificate coursework
