These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

No audition is required for the initial application. This is an internal program gate students complete after enrolling at the university.Gateway source

Songs

Two Contrasting Musical Theatre Songs

Prepare two contrasting 32-bar cuts from standard Broadway musical-theatre repertoire

Each cut should be about one minute; the two songs together must not exceed three minutes

Bring sheet music in the correct key with cuts clearly marked; no lead sheets, chords, or accompaniment tracks

Monologues

One Contemporary Monologue

Prepare one contemporary monologue no longer than one minute

Memorization is required

Dance

Dance Call

Participate in a group dance call taught by the faculty

Bring form-fitting movement clothes and dance shoes if available

Additional Materials

Headshot (Required)

Submit an industry-style, well-lit 8 x 10 photo

Resume (Required)

Submit a performance resume

Submit one recommendation form from a professor or teacher

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled at UGA in an undergraduate Theatre, Music, or Dance major

A minimum 3.0 GPA is required

Admission to the certificate is competitive and auditions are held each semester

Application Process

Submit application materials through the certificate Qualtrics portal

After submitting materials, select an individual audition time

What's The Process

Internal Audition

Auditions are open only to currently enrolled UGA undergraduates majoring in Theatre, Music, or Dance

The audition includes a group dance call followed by an individually scheduled five-minute singing and acting slot

The slate, monologue, and two songs together must not exceed five minutes

Fall 2026

The current audition is Saturday, October 10, 2026

The 2026 materials deadline has not yet been published; the department says more information will be announced in September
