Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

RESUME (required; one page covering schools attended, dance training, accomplishments or honors, and relevant work experience)

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION (3 recommended; one should be from a dance instructor if possible)

Submit the UF academic application and the separate BFA Dance audition registration

The official dance page and linked Microsoft Form still publish the completed Fall 2026 audition cycle

The next audition registration window and exact deadlines have not been published

Transfer Pathway

UF publishes a BFA Dance transfer pathway: transfer students are admitted after a satisfactory in-person or videotaped audition, resume review, and acceptable dance proficiency; community college preparation should include dance technique, composition, appreciation, and production/performance work.

What's The Process

Audition Expectations

Audition includes community building and improvisational prompts, warm up, across-the-floor combinations, composition work, and individual interviews with dance faculty

The published schedule runs approximately 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. with a lunch break

Applicants unable to attend in person may email dance@arts.ufl.edu to schedule a virtual interview; the degree coordinator then supplies video-audition instructions

The linked registration form still identifies itself as the Spring 2026 admission cycle

UF has not published the next BFA Dance audition dates or materials deadlines
