Training
•Bullet: Brass studio faculty include Heidi Lucas (horn), an associate professor who has presented at international horn symposia and was appointed editor of the International Horn Society's Horn Call "Books and Print Materials Reviews" column; Bruce Tychinski (trombone), a member of the Washington Trombone Ensemble and Nittany Trombone Quartet and principal trombonist of the Pennsylvania Philharmonic; and Brianne Borden (trumpet), who has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Phoenix Symphony.
•Bullet: The UD Trombone Studio "includes students from more than six states" and hosts an annual Trombone Day bringing "world-class artists to campus to perform and present master classes."
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Brass majors perform in named studio ensembles including the UD Horn Ensemble, UD Trumpet Ensemble, and UD Slides (the trombone ensemble); the UD Trombone Choir performed at the 2014 International Trombone Festival at the Eastman School of Music.
•Bullet: The published undergraduate audition requires one solo piece (such as a Mozart horn concerto or Saint-Saens Concert Piece) and one etude (such as Kopprasch or Gallay), per the School of Music's audition repertoire page.
