Training
•Bullet: The BA in Music "provides students an opportunity to synthesize intensive study of music with a liberal arts education," combining training in "music theory, music history/literature, performance ensembles and applied music" with what the school calls a "low student-to-faculty ratio."
•Bullet: Students work with academic advisors and career coaches to build a personalized "Career Profile"; the program's published examples show alumni pursuing graduate study or careers in fields such as Music Therapy and Music in Early Childhood.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: The School of Music states the study of music at Delaware "is enriched by nearly 300 performances each year by faculty, students, ensembles, and guest artists," with the musical resources of Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York City "easily accessible to our majors."
•Bullet: Students can join music organizations including Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Sigma Alpha Iota, the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and the Society of Composers, Inc. (SCI), among others named on the program's own page.
