TRAINING & CURRICULUM
•Comprehensive program spanning acting, dance, directing, playwriting, design/technology, and dramaturgy
•Faculty are working professionals with ties to Monterey and San Francisco Bay Area theater companies
•Open to all UCSC students — no audition or portfolio review required to pursue the degree
PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTION
•2-3 publicly presented productions each quarter, cast almost exclusively from students
•500-seat thrust stage, 60'x60' flexible black box, 200-seat proscenium, and 48-seat studio theater
•Student-run Barnstorm Theater Company and Rainbow Theater for additional performance opportunities
•Annual student-choreographed Random: With a Purpose dance showcase
UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES
•Dharma-Grace Foundation Creative Writing Award funds a full staged production of an undergraduate play
•Strong ties to professional theater companies for internships and overhire work
•Study abroad opportunities with potential to fulfill major requirements
