•Entry point is Music 11, satisfied by taking the course, passing the AP Music Theory exam, an equivalent Music Fundamentals course, or the department's Music Theory Placement Exam
•Coursework spans music theory, music history, and ethnomusicology alongside other academic study in the Department of Music
•Minors may take private lessons based on audition, studio space, and instructor approval, and may participate in department ensembles
Degree Flexibility
•Declared by emailing the Undergraduate Advisor from a UCSB email address with your perm number and a request to add the minor; no separate application or audition for the minor itself
