•500-word essay explaining what draws you to the study of theatre and what areas you wish to explore as an undergraduate

•Examples include directing, playwriting, literary and historical study, stage management, dramaturgy, or theatre management

•Includes primary area of interest and how you heard about the program

Scholarship Materials

•Optional for departmental scholarship consideration

•Upload a resume and up to three additional supporting items

•Supporting items may include dramatic writing samples, stage management paperwork, production video or images, sample academic essays, or other related items

•Provide 1-4 total items; images up to 5MB each and PDFs up to 10MB each

Application Logistics

•Two-step: UConn application (Common App or Coalition) + SlideRoom application + virtual interview

•SlideRoom applications for 2027 entry are expected to open in early August 2026

•Early Decision SlideRoom and UConn application deadline is November 1, 2026

•First-year regular SlideRoom and UConn application deadline is January 15, 2027

•Transfer and current UConn students applying for Spring 2027 submit SlideRoom by October 1, 2026
