•Covers jazz history, theory, and performance practice while developing improvisational technique and ensemble collaboration across a range of jazz styles, complementing majors in music education, performance, or production
•Minor students may audition for any of the program's four jazz ensembles and seven specialized small-group combos, alongside music majors and non-majors from across campus
Performance & Productions
•Trains within a jazz program dating to 1960 that produced the 2012 DownBeat Magazine top collegiate jazz ensemble in the nation, rehearsing at the dedicated UCO Jazz Lab used for classes, concerts, and guest-artist collaborations nearly every day
