Training
•Explores how music was written, played, and heard in the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, training students on period instruments and historically informed performance techniques
•Deepens interpretive skills and cultural context for performers, educators, or anyone drawn to early-music traditions, complementing a primary performance or education major
Facilities
•Students play UCO's custom harpsichord, built in 2013 by Bennight, and take part in chamber ensembles exploring repertoire ranging from medieval and Renaissance works to contemporary pieces by living composers
