Training
•Studies music theory, structure, and instrumentation while developing an individual creative voice through original compositions, aimed at aspiring composers, arrangers, and songwriters writing for live performance, film, or digital media
•Coursework draws on the same School of Music theory and aural-skills sequence required of BM and BA majors, giving minors a rigorous foundation alongside their primary degree
Facilities
•Composition students use the School of Music's MIDI Lab, with 11 Macintosh workstations running Finale notation software, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, and GarageBand for realizing and recording original scores
