Application Logistics

Apply directly through the UCO application portal; undergraduate admission has no posted deadline

Complete the Incoming Student Questionnaire before starting classes

Enrollment

Annual one-on-one juried progression presentations at the end of each academic year

Year 1: Perform slate and one-minute contemporary monologue; submit portfolio with headshot, resume, artistic-goals statement, and character analysis

Year 2: Two contrasting one-minute monologues (contemporary and classical); expanded portfolio with stage make-up renderings

Year 3: Dialect monologue with research; improv demonstrating clown/mime and non-linear storytelling

Year 4: Two contrasting monologues of choice plus juror-selected monologue; acting reel or self-tape; website portfolio

Program Requirements

124 credit hours including major requirements, electives, and university core

Important Notes

Alpha Psi Omega (APO) National Theatre Honor Society requires 2.5 overall GPA and 2.75 in theatre courses

What's The Process

Audition Process

No audition or interview is required for acceptance into UCO Theatre Arts.

Choose Theatre Arts - Performance as your major on the UCO application.

All incoming Theatre Arts students complete the Incoming Student Questionnaire with a 3-5 minute video.

Post-Enrollment

Theatre Arts students attend informal group interviews or meetings at the start of each semester.

Performance majors complete annual one-on-one juried progression presentations at the end of each academic year to continue in the program.
