Training
•Integrated Studies is UCLA Theater’s interdisciplinary emphasis for students who want to cross-train within the major
•Rather than a directed course sequence beyond graduation requirements, students shape electives around their own theater interests with faculty advising
•The curriculum identifies five pathways: Theater & Performance Studies, Playwriting, Directing, Teaching Artistry, and Theater & Emerging Technologies
Degree Flexibility
•Students may combine one or two pathways and supplement them with electives from other areas
•Stage management and producing electives are also available to Integrated Studies students
•The Playwriting pathway includes Theater Arts 30/Dramatic Writing and, in alternate years, four workshops requiring writing samples and instructor consent
•The Directing pathway begins with Theater 15 and Theater 160, with later specialization classes requiring an interview and instructor consent
