Training
•Bullet: Integrated Studies is UCLA Theater’s interdisciplinary emphasis for students who want to cross-train within the major
•Bullet: Rather than a directed course sequence beyond graduation requirements, students shape electives around their own theater interests with faculty advising
•Bullet: The curriculum identifies five pathways: Theater & Performance Studies, Playwriting, Directing, Teaching Artistry, and Theater & Emerging Technologies
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: Students may combine one or two pathways and supplement them with electives from other areas
•Bullet: Stage management and producing electives are also available to Integrated Studies students
•Bullet: The Playwriting pathway includes Theater Arts 30/Dramatic Writing and, in alternate years, four workshops requiring writing samples and instructor consent
•Bullet: The Directing pathway begins with Theater 15 and Theater 160, with later specialization classes requiring an interview and instructor consent
