Training
•Six-course minor: CMST 10100 Introduction to Film, two of the three history-survey courses (Silent Era; Sound to 1960; 1960 to Present), and three additional CMS electives at the 20000-level or above
•Students are advised to complete the introductory course early and must declare by Spring Quarter of their third year
Facilities
•Minor coursework draws on the Film Studies Center's 35mm and 16mm film collection, Library of Congress Paper Print Collection holdings, and dedicated screening rooms
Study Abroad
•Minors have access to the CMS study-abroad option in Paris
Degree Flexibility
•Minor courses cannot be double-counted toward a major, another minor, or general education requirements, and more than half must carry University of Chicago course numbers
