Training
•The 22-unit minor pairs two Theatre History & Theory courses — chosen from a menu of 15 options spanning Latinx, Asian American, and African American performance traditions — with 8 units of electives in acting, design, or dance technique
•Every minor completes a 2-unit production crew lab plus a 4-unit production role in performance, design, stage management, or directing, giving non-majors the same hands-on production experience required of BA students
Facilities
•Minor students work alongside majors on department productions staged in Wright Hall's Main Theatre and Arena Theatre and the historic Wyatt Pavilion Theatre, built in 1907
•Dance coursework uses the Della Davidson Performance Studio in Nelson Hall, and larger dance concerts are presented at the Mondavi Center's Vanderhoef Studio Theatre
Value
•Open to any UC Davis undergraduate regardless of major, the minor is designed to combine with pre-professional majors while keeping a foothold in production and performance training
