Training
•The minor requires seven courses — two lower-division (one musicianship/theory course from Music 20/25/57/90, one history/culture course from Music 26AC/27/29/30/31/70/80) and five upper-division, with at least two of the five in a performance ensemble and at least one outside performance ensembles.
•Eligible ensemble courses include Music 116, the 140–149 series, and the 164–165 series, and all performance-ensemble credit toward the minor must be earned at Berkeley.
Degree Flexibility
•Declaration is due by the Friday of RRR week the semester before a student's expected graduation term, no AP or external exam credit substitutes for minor coursework, and completion is recorded on the transcript's memorandum section rather than on the diploma.
