Performance & Productions
•Students can perform in named large ensembles — the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, University Baroque Ensemble, University Chorus, and Chamber Chorus — plus specialized groups including the Berkeley New Music Project's Eco Ensemble, the Balinese and Javanese Gamelan ensembles, the African Music Ensemble.
Notable Alumni
•Composers Jimmy López (PhD 2012) and Mason Bates (PhD 2008, studying under faculty composer Edmund Campion) both trained in Berkeley's composition program before building international orchestral careers.
